Genzler Bass Array 10-2 Series 2 Cabinet
The Genzler Bass Array 10-2 Series 2 cabinet is nothing short of
amazing. With a 10" neodymium woofer, and four 2 inch
tweeters, it all fits into a very compact speaker box, only 15.5 x
15 x 13. Weighing only 19 lbs, it sounds fuller and deeper than
some of the largest and biggest speaker cabinets ever made.
This cabinet is perfect for anyone looking for that nice, 'big'
fullness of sound, regardless of size. It just happens to
work!
Why is this cab tilted? Anyone that's
played gigs with their double bass will often need to place the amp
up on a chair or rock it back a little. It does a couple of
important things: One, it enables the player to hear himself
better with other instruments around him. Nothing is less
appealing that playing in a combo setting, playing a double bass,
only to hear it the sound come out of box on the floor, many feet
away from you! Second, the tilted cabinet also helps the sound
project more openly, filling the acoustics in the room, rather than
angled into the floor.
What the heck is this Neodymium? Neodymium is
a cheaper,
lightweight metal and allows for the speakers to be much lighter
without losing the sound and sound of 'heaviness' enjoyed with the
older (super heavy) speaker cabs.
There's really no other cabinet like this one! It is small,
lightweight and the speakers are extremely sensitive to the
smallest, slightest touch. Anytime you can duplicate (and not
interfere) with the natural sound of your upright, double bass, it's
magical.
